Megabite Consulting Privacy Policy

Megabite Consulting ("us", "we", or "our") operates the www.megabiteconsulting.co.nz website and platform (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.

We use your data to provide and improve the Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Megabite Consulting uses the collected data for various purposes:

  • To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so

  • To gather analysis or valuable information so that we can improve our Service
  • To monitor the usage of our Service

  • To provide you with news, special offers and general information about other goods, Services and events which we offer that are similar to those that you have already purchased or enquired about unless you have opted not to receive such information

Duration of processing

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.  For example if you are offered a megabitenutrition.com course, and your partake in a course, the Commission on Dietetic Registration requests that all completed evaluation forms and certificates of completion are kept secure for a minimum of 7 years and the data collected for certification is;

  • Title of program or activity
  • Date of completion
  • Provider name and CPE accreditation number
  • Name of the dietetics professional who completed the activity
  • CPEUs awarded
  • Location of the program
  • Signature of the CPE provider

Megabite Consulting will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

3. How do we protect your information?

We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy. We are committed to protecting your personal information against unauthorized use or disclosure.

4. Your rights

You have a right to be informed of Personal Data processed by Megabite Consulting, a right to rectification/correction, erasure and restriction of processing. You also have the right to receive a structured, common and machine-readable format of Personal Data you provided to us.

We can only identify you via your email address and name, and we can only adhere to your request and provide information if we have Personal Data about you through you having made contact with us directly and/or you using our site and/or Service. We cannot provide, rectify or delete any data that we store on behalf of our users or customers.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of the processing that was carried out prior to withdrawing it. Whenever you withdraw consent, you acknowledge and accept that this may have a negative influence on the quality of the site and/or Services. You further agree that Megabite shall not be held liable with respect to any loss and/or damage to your Personal Data if you choose to withdraw consent.

In addition, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection authority in your jurisdiction.

5. Service providers

We employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related Services or to assist us in analysing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

Analytics

We use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analysis Service provided by Google Inc. (“Google”). Google utilizes the Data collected to track and examine the use of this Website, to prepare reports on its activities and share them with other Google Services.

6. Hosting and backend infrastructure

Teachery
Teachery is the platform used to support Megabite Nutrition courses.  They also comply with privacy policy and can be read here https://www.teachery.co/privacy

Payments

We may provide paid products and/or Services within the Service. In that case, we use third-party Services for payment processing (e.g. payment processors).

We will not store or collect your payment card details. That information is provided directly to our third-party payment processors whose use of your personal information is governed by their Privacy Policy. The payment processors we work with are:

Stripe

Stripe is a payment Service provided by Stripe Inc.

PayPal

PayPal is a payment Service provided by PayPal Inc.

7. Content commenting

Disqus
Is a content commenting Service provided by Big Heads Labs Inc. if you comment on a blog.

9. User database management

Mailchimp
Mailchimp is an online marketing platform operated by The Rocket Science Group LLC, a company headquartered in the State of Georgia in the United States.  This is the platform we use to collect your information from Teachery or direct from our website for emails marketing.

10. Other

Vimeo
Vimeo is a video content visualization Service provided by Vimeo, LLC that allows this Megabite Nutrition to incorporate content of this kind on its pages.

YouTube
YouTube is a video content visualization Service provided by Google Inc. that allows Megabite Nutrition to incorporate content of this kind on its pages.

UpViral

UpViral.com is a private limited liability company registered under Dutch Law, having its registered address situated at Gageldijk 21, 3602AG, Maarssen, The Netherlands.  This company campaign links maybe used to promote courses or offers to the user.  They also have a privacy policy https://upviral.com/privacy-policy/

11. Links to other sites

Our Service may contain links to other sites that are not operated by us. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party's site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or Services.

12. Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

13. Changes to this privacy policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the "effective date" at the top of this Privacy Policy. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are effective when they are posted on this page.
